What is an insulin pump?

An insulin pump is a device worn directly on the body, attached to the skin with an adhesive and dispensing insulin through a small needle.

How does it work?

Insulin pumps deliver insulin continuously to the body. Our Nano® patch pump can be controlled wirelessly by Bluetooth via your phone or a separate device called Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM).

How often should I change my Nano pump?

The Nano pump consists of two parts: a base containing all the electronic components you need to keep close at hand, and a reservoir containing up to 200 units of insulin (please note that the patch is not pre-filled), giving you up to 3 days of continuous insulin delivery.

What are the advantages of using a patch pump?

The Nano pump is small and discreet, and can be worn on different parts of the body and under your favorite clothes. There's no tube, so there's no risk of it getting caught on door handles. And because it delivers insulin continuously, you don't need to take several injections a day, so you can carry on with your daily activities with complete peace of mind.

What size is the Nano pump?

The Nano pump is the smallest (40.5 mm x 31.5 mm x 11.5 mm) and lightest (13.8 g) insulin pump currently on the market.

What are the characteristics of the Nano pump needle?

The cannula is a 30G stainless steel needle, measuring 5mm (0.2") at a 90-degree angle to the skin.

What type of insulin can be used with the Nano patch pump?

Rapid-acting U-100 insulin is recommended. The following brands of insulin have been tested and found safe for use with the patch pump: Humalog®, NovoLog®, NovoRapid® and Apidra®.

Where can I wear the Nano patch pump?

The Nano pump can be placed on the abdomen, lower back, buttocks, upper arm, thigh, but away from the navel. The location you choose for your pump depends on what feels most comfortable to you.
The skin must be clean, hair-free, dry, with sufficient fat (at least 5 mm).

The new infusion site must be at least 2.5 cm from the last site and the sensor.

If you choose an infusion site on the abdomen, back or buttocks, apply the patch horizontally.

If you choose an infusion site on the upper arm or thigh, apply the patch vertically.

Can I do sport while wearing my patch pump?

With no tubing, the small, compact Nano insulin pump won't get in the way when you're doing sports. You can also go swimming with your pump, as it is waterproof to a depth of 2.5 meters (8 feet) for 60 minutes (IP28).

Can I travel abroad with my pump?

The Nano pump can safely pass through airport metal detection machines, but cannot pass through body scanners. Our team can provide you with a travel map and a list of travel and vacation essentials, so that you're perfectly prepared for your travels.

How can I control my pump from my phone?

You need to download our EasyPatch® app onto your phone* and connect it to your pump every time you change it. It's quick, easy and very discreet to check your trends or perform a bolus using your phone.
If you prefer to use your PDM, you can connect it to our EasyTouch® app.

How long will my data be kept?

The controller (PDM or App) stores the data for 90 days. When downloaded to Easyview, data is stored for 2 years.

Will someone train me?

Our dedicated team of specialists will guide you through every step to get you started with your new Nano pump.

Do I have to remove my patch pump if I have X-rays, MRIs or CT scans?

Yes, you must remove your patch pump before taking any tests.

The TouchCare® system may be affected by radiation or strong magnetic fields. If you have to undergo an X-ray, MRI, CT scan or any other type of radiation exposure, remove your patch pump and glucose sensor and place them outside the treatment area with your PDM. Replace the patch reservoir and sensor once the test or procedure has been completed.

The TouchCare® system is designed to tolerate common electromagnetic and electrostatic fields, including airport security systems and cell phones.

What does the EasyPatch application do?

You can use the EasyPatch application to monitor and control your patch Nano pump and CGM Nano system via wireless communication.

Do I have to use the PDM if I use the EasyPatch application?

You don't need to use your PDM if you use the EasyPatch application with our insulin pump and CGM system.

What are the advantages of using the EasyPatch application?

The EasyPatch app lets you control your tubeless insulin pump via your Smartphone (Android or iPhone). You can track your trends and bolus in total discretion.
The EasyPatch app allows you to view your data in real time and store it for 90 days.
